We send best wishes for the New Year to all our members.
Following your nominations, we are pleased to confirm that we have made our annual charitable donations. From the feedback from the Charities so far, we are aware just how important these extra monies have been to them, they have really made such a difference.
We were able to send £200 to each of the following local charities:-
Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled,
Westcroft House, Tring.
Signpost Counselling.
The Hospice of St. Francis
Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
Thank you for supporting the VPA
We have tried to be careful with our members in these testing times but we also like to bring you all some cheer. When we briefly popped out of the astringent rules of lockdown and just before we all fell off another cliff, the VPA were able to organise a mini Christmas event in the car park at the village hall. We grabbed a bit of sunshine and for two glorious hours we welcomed our members with mince pies and mulled wine.

With Covid 19 still with us it looks as though Christmas shopping will be difficult so why not join us outside the Village Hall on Saturday 5th December between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon for our Mini Christmas Event. This will be run as our other events have been – outside with social distancing in place to keep you all safe.

Dear Members
Each year the VPA makes donations to local worthy causes and as we did last year we would like to ask members for their nominations for charities or organisations for the Committee to consider.
Charities have had a particularly poor year in fund raising this year so the Committee have decided to make available up to a total of £1,000 to donate in smaller sums to worthy groups. Please avoid nominating National groups or Charities as we know members prefer to see donations given locally.
Please send your email nominations to info@lgvpa.org

Sadly the quiz night cannot be held this year, however your VPA Committee is working hard on other ideas for a pre-Christmas event so please watch this space and of course Village Notice boards to find out what is coming next.
Thanks to all our members for the great response to the Bulbs event, a very enjoyable weekend.
Bubbles and Bulbs: Still On, but Sadly Without Bubbles
With the latest Government Guidelines for coronavirus becoming effective from Monday 14th September the VPA have been receiving a number of enquiries regarding our Bubbles and Bulbs event scheduled for Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
As we are a shop we are allowed to go ahead and to make sure that everyone stays safe, the event will be held outside. We would ask you please to observe the social distancing system which will be in place. Parking will be available by the Bowls and Croquet Club to save too much chaos by the Village Hall.
We are looking forward to seeing you but regretfully the “Bubbles” will have to be held over for another time. This year our selection of bulbs has some of the old favourites and some exciting new varieties, as well as bulbs chosen by designers and floral experts alike. We look forward to seeing you.
PLANNNG YOUR VEGETABLE GARDEN FOR NEXT YEAR
It seems a little premature to be thinking about Spring when we are scarcely into Autumn but as most of us were caught out by strange circumstances that hit us all in March of this year, perhaps some forward planning is a good idea.
