As we have all been able to experience more flexibility in our day to day activities the gardens have continued their growth with produce being gathered and magnificent blooms appearing to help keep us cheery.  The latest virtual show was the RHS flower show at Tatton Park – take a look at all the inspirational items including details of a career in horticulture, to all the aspiring gardeners out there.

You may have seen the RHS magazine confirming, sadly, all shows have now been cancelled for 2020.  Consequently we have had to take the decision to cancel our Summer Show which was due to take place in August. Let’s remain positive and hope the Winter Show will be happening. Please make sure you keep some vegetables for entering. Even though we have had to take this decision we would be delighted to receive pictures from the projects completed under the Young Gardeners and also your longest weed.  Send your pictures to vpa-show@lgvpa.org by Sunday 16 August 2020.  To whet your appetite we are also contemplating the supply of seed potatoes for the 2021 growing season so look out for further information.

The RHS gardens are now open with pre-booked tickets so make arrangements for a day out and make use of the RHS discount cards the VPA has purchased for the use of all its members.  To borrow them contact any committee member or email hello@lgvpa.org.

The committee has been evaluating what charitable donations we could make and welcome any input you the members would like to share towards this next giving decision.  Please send any suggestions to info@lgvpa.org.

On the heels of a very successful Plant Sale we are in the process of discussing the organisation of another Bubbles and Bulbs event so look out for further details.

Wishing everyone a continued great growing season and remember to keep on top of all the summer jobs that need doing to produce the best produce for your table.
