Harvest Supper
Just to let you know that the Harvest Supper and Quiz night is coming up fast, October 5th in the Village hall.
It will be a prompt start 6 for 6.30pm, Three course meal, quiz, raffle and bar.
Tickets are £20 and teams should be a maximum of eight people.

Tickets usually sell quickly so reserve yours asap to avoid disappointment. If you are able to put together a table of eight that’s great, but if not just buy however many you need and the VPA Committee will put the teams together.
Summer Show
Thanks to all who submitted entries or who came along to the Village Show, I think it was a real success.
Our header image shows all the winners from the Summer Show standing in front of a special guest – the Little Cream Van – which was a great exhibit on the day, especially with all the flowers and veg spilling out of the rear doors! We planned to at least break even on the event and we expect to make a small surplus from the Show this year that will be part of our Charitable donation to worthy causes.
Membership Target
This week we have just hit our target of 200 member households, 150 of whom have signed up to the Standing Order method of payment. This method really helps us in managing the membership renewals so many thanks for that. However, with the target met, we cannot rest on our laurels, I know that two members have moved away from the village and won’t be renewing next year, so in order to keep our numbers up we will keep on with the recruitment. If you know of villagers who would like to join, especially perhaps new folk in the village, do let them know about the VPA and the benefits of being part of the Association. They can contact any member of the Committee to get a form, or they can email me direct.
VPA Store next to the Village Hall
Regulars will have seen the transformation of the store following the cleaning, painting, reorganisation and re-stocking. Looking good and we welcome customers Sunday mornings 10am 12am
Volunteers man the store and we are looking for more volunteers, nothing onerous to do, meet and greet, sell the products at the marked up prices. Also we have a few dates where we don’t have the full staff numbers, ideally two folk are on together, I know Sunday 6th October is a gap, June Abraham is managing the list so please speak to her if you are an existing volunteer and can cover that date or if you would like to become a store volunteer. RHS tickets
Don’t forget if you are visiting the RHS gardens at all this year you get 30% off the entry fee with our special VPA affiliation tickets. Please let me know if you would like to borrow them.
